How I voted in Tuesday's Elections

I find it very hard to get good information on local elections. Ironically, our local elections affect our lives a lot more than national ones.

I tend to be very conservative, so in general I want the government to stay out of our lives – less laws, less intrusion, more freedom, more of me deciding how I should spend my money and what charities and causes I want to support.

As a follower of Christ, I also feel a responsibility to live a life of compassion and service to others – I simply believe people should determine how to use their hard-earned money, not the government. I don’t expect that all Christians will agree with my opinions, nor that they should. There are honest differences in philosophy, even among Christians, and I’m happy to acknowledge that. I have friends who are liberal Democrats, and though we often disagree politically, that's what makes this a great country to live in - we're free to do so!

But since I find it helpful to see how like-minded people voted on certain issues, especially in local elections, where it’s often hard to find good info, I thought others may appreciate seeing how I voted in Tuesday's election.

So my hope is this may be helpful to you as well. Here's how I voted on all the issues and candidates in Tuesday’s election and just below I’ve listed links to some of the sites I found helpful in making my decisions.

Whether you agree with me or not, I urge you to spend time researching the issues, educate yourself, and participate in our republic! If you don’t vote, you have no room to complain!
